                                 About APGI USA

The Association of Ex-Presidential guards and Immigration services Inc (APGI) of the Guyana Police Force, also known as APGI USA is registered in New York State as a charitable not-for-profit organization with the main purpose of socially and financially assisting it members and former colleagues in what ever way possible during times of need. In doing so, soliciting contributions from members and hosting fundraising events are required to sustain APGI. Grants/donations from other organizations are also necessary.

APGI was formed in the year 2000 after the demise of a former colleague. The founding members pledged to assist disabled and needy members and their dependents. There after, this organization has been able to assist the widows of some members and former colleagues financially during, and after their grief. APGI has also supported other charitable organizations.

In 2005, APGI donated medical supplies to the Guyana Flood Relief program with assistance from OSHAG. In addition, computers were donated to three departments of the Guyana Police Force. This organization will continue to make such charitable contributions in aid of the GPF and Guyana periodically.

This organization mainly consists of former police officers assigned to the elite sections of the Guyana Police Force (GPF) namely, the Presidential Guard, Special Branch & Immigration departments. However, former Police officers from other sections of the force are also involved and welcome.

Meeting of members are held the last Sunday of every month.
